WAIT! Before You Buy Helios Touch Lights

There are 7 important things you MUST KNOW about Helios Touch Lights. These things can apply to all hexagon lights and even the hexatile touch.

How do you quickly change the mood in your kitchen when having a romantic dinner? And make an impression at the same time? Well, let me introduce you to these beautiful modular lights made and designed by Helios Touch.

These modular lights are absolutely amazing! Their ability to change and impact your mood or the mood of the entire space in just a touch (or soft swipe of hand) is really incredible. These are the Helios Touch Lights. Let me tell you ALL about them!

What are Helios Touch Lights?

The first thing you see when you visit their website is what I believe to be the best description of what these are; “The world’s first modular touch wall lighting”.

These modular touch lights are not something you can just read about, no. These hexatile touch lights are something you have to experience.

Currently, Helios Touch lights come in two different tones of color in two different light collections;

  1. Warm White Collection
  2. Cool White Collection

Where to buy Helios Touch lights?

If you have a Prime account, then the easiest and fastest way to get your hands on these beautiful hexagonal magnetic tiles is through Amazon! Just go to Modular lighting Amazon.

How do Helios Touch lights work?

Without going into all the technical and engineering details, the important thing for us as consumers to know, are these modular tile lights are extremely easy to set up, mount, and getting them to work.

These hexatile lights were designed to be simple to use and at the same time provide a touch (no pun intended) of sophistication to your space.

Are Helios Touch lights waterproof?

They are not! So please don’t plan to use these modular lighting tiles outdoors or in a place where there will be moisture or any sign of humidity or water.

Can I use Helios Touch lights in my kitchen?

Of course you can! Trust me, it will add a completely new dimension and modern-feel to your kitchen.

I bet none of your neighbors or friends have these (at least not yet!).

But just remember the question above about waterproof. I would not recommend placing these lights for instance close to the sink or even the fridge for that matter. Any exposure to moisture or water can damage these lights… if that happens, that will change your ‘mood’ in a completely different way!

Most kitchens will have a good amount of natural light coming in, so you will want to plan this properly. Think about the following; how often past dusk are you or your family members in the kitchen area? Are your children doing homework after hours for example? Some kitchens have a desk or work area to go through the mail or work on the monthly bills. This might be a good place for them.

Can I stick these modular lights in the kitchen ceiling?

No, based on my research, I would definitely not recommend you mount these on your kitchen ceiling unless you have experience with and build a solid clamping system that will not only hold these hexagonal magnetic tiles in place, but also (and more importantly) prevent them from ever falling down on someone’s head – that would not be good.

How does modular touch wall lighting stick?

Helios Touch itself sells these cool gel mounting pads. Think of them as a cushion, where one side sticks to the wall and the other holds the light tile in place.

Is there a Helios Touch alternative?

As with anything else these days, yes, there are several alternatives to Helios Touch lights actually. I found many of them which I plan to buy, test, and compare to the Helios hexagon tile lights. Here are a few I’d like to test out and for you to check out;

These are just some of the many options out there for similar types of illumination for spaces at home.

What are people saying? Helios Touch lights review.

Me personally? I love them, my wife loves them, and my kids cannot walk into the kitchen without softly sliding their small little hands on our touch wall lights.

I read a review where the person said

“I almost don’t want to review this product because I want to keep it all to myself.”

That’s exactly how I feel… but what kind of person would I be if I didn’t share these cool hex lights with you. Plus, I know not everyone is going to buy them (they’re not cheap!) and so it will take a long time in my opinion, for these to become a commodity inside homes.

Definitely an awesome and fun invention!

What can you do with a Helios Touch modular lighting system?

These modular lights are so cool and easy to incorporate into any existing design, that I decided to write this section to give you ideas on where you can use them.

Places you can use Helios Touch lights

So yeah, you are NOT by any means, limited to using these hexagon walls lights in your kitchen – no!

Go ahead and get creative with these lights!

There are so (emphasis on the “so”) many places around the house these can come in handy or provide a unique look to. Let’s talk about a few of these:

I hope you still don’t have one of those pull-down-string things to turn on the light in your closet! That was so 80’s right? No offense by the way if you still do. I’m just suggesting you may want to replace it with a couple of these magnetic wall lights.

Living room

Go ahead, impress those friends, co-workers, or family coming over for dinner tonight! Dim the chandelier, light some candles if you’d like, and then gently slide your hand on the surface of your new helios touch lights (make sure your friends are watching you! lol).

Family room

Casually lean over the couch (while still talking to your guests) and slowly, very slowly, slide your hand across the set of your new wall lights. Do it in style!

Give your guests something to play with while using the restroom (while sitting). But shhh don’t tell them about them, allow them to discover the touch lights on their own and ask you about them. Smooth, right? Told ya!

Ok, so I’m assuming I don’t have to tell you more about how to incorporate these touch lights into your kitchen design and decor… or do I?

Ok ok, one more tip!

If you have a center island in your kitchen, see if there is a way to stick these touchlights on the sides of the cabinetry. Only use them or turn them on when you have guests over. Even if you guys are not sitting on or around the island, just let them observe from a distance. Trust me, the lights will subtly and naturally attract their attention, watch!

How much power do Helios Touch Lights consume?

Not much actually, but let’s dissect. I refer to each hexagon tile light as an element. You can also call them “tiles”, “modules”, or “components”, but I like to call them each, elements!

According to their Helios Touch website, each “element” requires approximately 0.7 Watts. For reference, the “wattage” here, is just the quantity of energy that’s required to generate the light in each element.

As far as Lumens go, each element produces 80 of them according to Helios Touch.

Remember that these lights are all LED’s. This is important because LED’s will always cost less than incandescent lights and consume less power. Just an FYI.

How long will Helios Touch lights last?

For a long long time!

So far I’ve had mine for close to 7 months and I’ve moved them to three different spots in my house, without any issues. They are super well designed and built.
